The EUHSID (European Health Surveys Information Database) project
maintained and updated a
database
of the characteristics of major Health
Interview Surveys (HIS) and Health Examination Surveys (HES) in Europe. Its main
objectives were to
- Gather information on health survey design, questions and examination
protocols
- Follow the development of recommendations and new instruments or
protocols for health surveys
- Assess and enhance comparability of health surveys
- Standardise health surveys at a European level
The EUHSID project was implemented
by the Scientific Institute of Public Health (IPH) in Belgium and
the National Institute for
Health and Welfare (THL) in Finland, with financial support by
Eurostat
and the
Directorate General for Health and Consumers (DG SANCO). Although the
project has ended, the database is being kept online.
